Grounded Ceramic Art Exhibition in Sanctuary Point
Grounded Ceramic Art Exhibition
Celebrating Clay, Creativity & Community
We’re very excited to invite our local community to the Bay & Basin Bush Potters Grounded Ceramic Art Exhibition, being held this November at the Sanctuary Point Community Arts Cottage.
The exhibition will be a celebration of creativity, connection and our local pottery community, bringing together work created through our Grounded project alongside ceramic pieces made by members of Bay & Basin Bush Potters.
Grounded has been made possible with the support of the Shoalhaven City Council Community Wellbeing Grant Program, allowing us to bring people together through clay, creativity and connection.

From first piece to exhibition
Over eight Saturday evenings, participants in our free Grounded beginner pottery program will be learning the foundations of hand-building with clay, from shaping and construction through to decorating, underglazing, glazing and firing.
At the heart of the program is a self-portrait inspired ceramic project, giving each participant the freedom to create something that represents them in their own way.
The November exhibition will give our Grounded participants the opportunity to see their finished work displayed and celebrated alongside pieces created by our Bush Potters members.
For some, it may even be the first time they have ever exhibited something they have made, which makes this part of the project particularly special. 🤍
Our Bush Potters members will be exhibiting too
Grounded will also showcase the creativity of our wider Bay & Basin Bush Potters community, with members displaying a wonderful mix of their own ceramic work.
There will be pieces simply created to share and enjoy, along with selected handmade ceramics available to purchase, making it a lovely opportunity to discover locally made pottery and support local makers.
Most importantly, we hope the exhibition gives our community a chance to come through the doors of our Arts Cottage, see what we’ve been creating and experience a little of what makes our pottery community so special.
