A Morning of Art & Community at Worrowing, Jervis Bay
Connecting with Our Local Arts Community at Worrowing - Randall Sinnamon exhibition
There’s so much creativity right here in the Shoalhaven, and we love having opportunities to get out of the pottery studio, support other local artists and find a little inspiration along the way. π€
Recently, a group of Bay & Basin Bush Potters members joined members of the Shoalhaven Photography Club for a special morning at the beautiful new Melaleuca Art Gallery at Worrowing.
We were invited by local artist and good friend of our group, Randall Sinnamon, to view his exhibition Outdoor Studios – Woollamia to Worrowing and enjoy morning tea together.
Many of our members know Randall through our annual pit firing days, where he generously welcomes us to his Woollamia property and shares his knowledge and experience with the group. It was lovely this time to see another side of his creativity and spend time surrounded by his large-scale paintings and sculptures.
Randall shared some of the stories and inspiration behind his work, much of which reflects the bushland, landscape and natural beauty of the Jervis Bay area. We were also lucky enough to have a look around the new gallery and its beautiful bush setting.
The morning was another lovely example of what being part of a creative community can bring. Different art forms, different groups and different ideas all coming together, sharing conversations and inspiring one another.
A big thank you to Randall for inviting us and making everyone feel so welcome, to Jenny and Adrian for sharing their beautiful new gallery space with us, and to the Shoalhaven Photography Club members who joined us for the morning.
We came home feeling very lucky to have so much art, creativity and community right here on our doorstep. πΏπ¨πΊ
