Saturday Pottery Sessions a success in the Shoalhaven

Saturday Pottery Sessions - Bringing New Faces Together

Creativity, connection and community at the Sanctuary Point Community Arts Cottage 🏺✨

When we first decided to trial Saturday pottery sessions, we hoped they would give more people the opportunity to enjoy clay, creativity and connection within our community.

Just a month in, we're delighted to say the sessions have been a wonderful success. We even had to set up tables inside the hall to fit everyone who joined us on the first session.

New Faces Around the Table

We've welcomed a number of new members through the doors of the Sanctuary Point Community Arts Cottage, with people joining us from all different walks of life. Some are new to the Shoalhaven and looking to meet people and become part of the community, while others have lived in the area their entire lives and are discovering our pottery group for the very first time.

Learning Together

One of the loveliest things to see has been everyone coming together around the table. Complete beginners are learning alongside experienced potters, ideas are being shared, conversations are flowing and new friendships are beginning to form.

More Than Just Pottery

While pottery is often about making something with your hands, it can also be about so much more. Creative groups like ours provide opportunities for connection, learning, confidence and belonging.

For many people, having a regular place to come each week, share a cuppa, create something meaningful and spend time with others can have a positive impact on wellbeing and help reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation.

Our Saturday sessions have quickly become a welcoming space where people can slow down, try something new, learn from each other and simply enjoy being creative together.

Thank You

We're incredibly grateful to all our committee and members who have volunteered their time and helped make new people feel so welcome. The friendly and supportive atmosphere is what makes Bay & Basin Bush Potters such a special community group.

If you've been thinking about giving pottery a try, we'd love to meet you.
