Saturday Pottery Sessions Coming to Sanctuary Point & Jervis Bay

Did Someone Say Saturday Pottery Sessions Are Here?

Bay & Basin Bush Potters is excited to announce that we’ll be opening for Saturday pottery sessions in the NSW South Coast in the Shoalhaven starting from 23rd May 2026 as part of a 3-month trial.

The sessions will run from 10am to 2pm and give both current and new members another chance to enjoy some creative studio time outside of our regular Monday group.

If you’ve been thinking about trying pottery, meeting new people, or finding a creative hobby around the Shoalhaven and Jervis Bay area, this could be the perfect chance to pop in and see what we’re all about.

You’re welcome to drop by any Saturday session during the trial period to join, say hello, or simply see if the group fits your vibe.

Looking for a Friendly Community Pottery Group?

Bay & Basin Bush Potters is a volunteer-run pottery and ceramics group based in Sanctuary Point on the NSW South Coast.

We’re not formal pottery classes or a commercial studio. Instead, we’re a relaxed and welcoming community group where members learn from each other, share ideas, work on personal projects, and enjoy creating together.

People of all experience levels are welcome, from complete beginners through to experienced potters.

Our members enjoy:

  • Hand-building pottery
  • Wheel throwing
  • Glazing and decorating
  • Sculpture and creative clay projects
  • Pit firing and kiln firings
  • Functional and decorative ceramics

The studio includes pottery wheels, kiln access, slab rollers, moulds, glazes, tools, shared workspaces, and a friendly group of people who are always happy to help each other out.

Why Are We Opening Saturdays for New Members?

We know Mondays don’t work for everyone, especially with work, study, family commitments, or shift schedules. You have been asking, so it's time to open our doors for more of our local community to enjoy the connections and creativity clay can bring into your life.

The new Saturday sessions are being introduced as a 3-month trial to give more people across the Shoalhaven, St Georges Basin and Jervis Bay region the chance to join the group and enjoy pottery in a relaxed community setting.

Whether you’ve been wanting to try pottery for a while, get back into a creative hobby, or simply find a welcoming local community group, Saturdays may be a better fit for your schedule.

You’re welcome to pop down any week during the trial period to see the studio, meet members, and see if the group feels right for you. If the trial is successful, we will be continuing Saturdays permanently.

We’re especially excited to welcome local people from across:

  • Sanctuary Point
  • St Georges Basin
  • Jervis Bay
  • Huskisson
  • Vincentia
  • Basin View
  • Old Erowal Bay
  • Erowal Bay
  • Hyams Beach
  • Woollamia
  • Sussex Inlet
  • Tomerong
  • Wandandian
  • Nowra
  • and the surrounding Shoalhaven areas

We know many locals have been searching for pottery groups, pottery classes, ceramics studios, and creative hobbies around the Bay & Basin region, so we hope these extra sessions make it easier for more people to get involved and be part of our community.
